Combipres (Clonidine Hydrochloride, Chlorthalidone)Clonidine with Chlorthalidone (trade names include Combipres; Catapres Diu; Clorpres; Clothalton; Combipresan; Combipress) is a combined antihypertensive medication from imidazoline receptor agonists (Clonidine) and low-ceiling diuretics (Chlorthalidone) pharmacological groups. This medicine is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure, HBP). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems. Clonidine works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic or "water pill" and causes your body to get rid of extra salt and water. Combipres is indicated alone or in combinations with other antihypertensive drugs.
